Although kindness is encouraged by influencers at such a young age, sometimes it could be very hard to be kind. If we are in a situation where our self-esteem is at a low, not being kind is easy.  If your confidence is at a high then it’s easier being kind. And when you receive kindness or even give it, you become happy, and almost everyone’s goal is to be happy.

Sometimes people don’t want to think of the fact of how unkind they’re being because deep down, they don’t feel secure with themselves. When you talk bad about someone or speak badly to someone it will hurt them, and it should not make you feel better about yourself.

You can be kind by doing many things! Each day, you can try and do something kind for another person. Open the door for people or give somebody a genuine compliment. The choices are endless! It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as is it helping people and being kind.

If you’re about to be unkind to someone, stop and reflect.  What are you trying to achieve from this? And if someone is unkind to you, don’t take it personally. Remember – they’re probably hurting.  As Plato once said, “be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”

The truth is, someone out there in the world is going to have a better quality of life than you, but you have so many more amazing qualities that it won’t matter. So why pick out a few things that are not perfect about someone else and be unkind? Will it actually benefit you? The answer is no! Instead you can say something kind or nothing at all and keep the mean remarks in your head. Because when we support others, we increase the dopamine levels in our brains, giving us a kind of high. Emotional warmth also produces oxytocin, which reduces blood pressure and the free radicals associated with aging.

Remember your kindness will probably come back to you in one way or another. Kindness is also rational and makes sense for societies. Being kind often takes courage, like most good things do! So don’t let that put you off. So if you wanna stay happy and have all those other benefits, simply be kind.
