Despite the common misconception that only straight, gay, transgender, and bisexual people exist, there are various gender identities, sexualities, and romantic attractions that people identify with.

Sexuality is someone’s sexual attraction to another person. A romantic attraction is someone’s romantic feelings towards someone. Gender identity is how someone identifies gender-wise.

All of these terms run on a spectrum.

Sexual Attractions:

Heterosexual – having a sexual attraction towards the opposite sex.

Bisexual – having sexual attractions to two genders.

Homosexual – having a sexual attraction to the same sex.

Asexual – having no sexual attraction toward anyone.

Apothisexual – having no sexual attraction towards anyone, and is repulsed by sex in general.

Demisexual – only having sexual towards someone after a strong emotional connection is formed.

Pansexual – having sexual attraction towards anyone of any gender/gender identity.

Polysexual – having sexual attractions towards many genders at the same time.

Abrosexual – has fluid sexual attractions that changes erratically or regularly.

Akoisexual – has sexual attractions but doesn’t act/reciprocate on them

Romantic Attractions:

Heteroromantic – having a romantic attraction towards the opposite sex.

Biromantic – having a romantic attraction towards two genders.

Homoromantic – having a romantic attraction towards the same gender.

Aromantic – having no romantic feelings toward anyone.

Apothiromantic – having no romantic attraction towards anyone, and is repulsed by romance in general.

Demiromantic – only having romantic feelings after a strong emotional connection is formed.

Panromantic- having romantic feelings towards all genders.

Polyromantic- having romantic feelings towards many genders at the same time.

Abroromantic – has fluid romantic attractions that change erratically or regularly.

Akoiromantic- has romantic attractions but doesn’t act/reciprocate on them.

Gender Identities

Cisgender – Identifying with the body one is born in.

Transgender – Identifying with another gender that isn’t what you’re born in.

Non Binary – Not identified with any genders.

Genderfluid- Identifying with a varied gender that changes over time.

Please note that one can experience different sexual and romantic attractions (ex. Bisexual Homoromantic: sexually attracted to two sexes, but only romantically attracted to the same sex, or Asexual Panromantic: has no sexual attraction to anyone, but is romantically attracted to all sexes and gender identities, etc)

Your gender identity also doesn’t determine your sexuality. (You can be both transgender and homosexual, genderfluid and biromantic, etc)

All of the above has been proven to exist, and help people identify and label themselves. If for some reason you disagree with any, or are hesitant to believe that any one of the terms exist, we advise you to do some research to find the evidence of each existing identity.

(Some identities may have not been listed. We apologize for not having all possible terms.)
