The Super Bowl was great and all, but the halftime performance needs some of the spotlight too. On February 4th of 2018, Justin Timberlake performed at the Super Bowl for the 3rd time.

The performance started off with Justin Timberlake singing “Filthy”, a track off of his latest album Man of the Woods. The next song was one of his more popular songs, “Rock Your Body”.

Justin then segued into his songs “SexyBack,” “My Love,” and “Cry Me a River.”

He then moved to another stage for “Suit and Tie”,  featuring a lot of the marching band, and then performed “Until the End of Time” from his piano.

The lighting changed to purple, and since the Super Bowl was in Minnesota, Prince’s hometown, Timberlake had a projection of him while he sang “I Would Die 4 U”. Before he performed there were rumors of Timberlake having a Prince hologram, but it was obvious he would at least do something in honor of Prince during his show.

The performance finished with Justin Timberlake performing two of his hits: “Mirrors” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. He went into the audience area during his last song, and even took a selfie with one kid in the audience.

His other two performances at the Super Bowl halftime shows were in 2001 and 2004. Timberlake’s first Super Bowl show was with his old band NSYNC, but also featured Aerosmith and Britney Spears Mary J. Blige, and Nelly. The other performance of 2004 with Janet Jackson was extremely controversial. If you don’t know, don’t remember, or weren’t even born then, the performance featured a “wardrobe malfunction” that the 143.6 million live viewers witnessed.

Justin Timberlake’s performance this year (sadly) didn’t feature any special guests. If you didn’t get to watch the halftime show, you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2z3EUY1aXdY
