Introducing HEYDAY, a CrossFit gym here in San Pedro. Located at 220 8th St.San Pedro CA 90731, Heyday is run by co-owners Ricky Magana and Eddie Mckenna. Their mission statement is simple, get people back to their HEYDAY. Both owners are active at the gym and coach those of us who may not always wish to be there.
Heyday specializes in CrossFit, a form of exercise that focuses on many parts of the body. This includes lifting weights, running, pull-ups, kettlebells swings, push-ups and many more. While doing these workouts may be enough for some people, at Heyday, you learn to do workouts right. This means lifting weights properly without hurting your back or straining a muscle.
HEYDAY also prides itself on being fun, On their website they say”There is a way you can actually have fun, while you get in shape. You can walk into the gym and, every time, get the EXACT plan you need to achieve exactly the body you want.”
Mike Ghekiere, a San Pedro local, has gone CrossFit for a while now and says that the effects have been nothing but positive, “by working out at HEYDAY, a lot of the pain I felt from cancer treatments lessened. I feel better than ever.”
Working out at HEYDAY isn’t only special because of working out, it’s special because of the community that revolves around it.
When walking up to HEYDAY you’ll see people of all ages all getting ready to face the challenges of that day’s workout. The environment of HEYDAY is very supportive while doing anything you hear the cheers of those around you, pushing you on and hoping you do the best.

Heyday Offers workouts throughout the day, from 5:00 am to 6:30 pm which is all available throughout the week, just not Sunday. So if you’re interested in getting into shape, then come on by and sign up, they’ll be happy to happy to have you.
