The First Thanksgiving recipe I am going to show you is how to make a crescent roll cornucopia.

The things you will need for the cornucopia will be…

  • Tin Foil
  • 3 Packs of Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • Cinnamon (Optional)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then the first step for this recipe is to use the tin foil and make the shape of a cornucopia by getting a large sheet of foil and folding it in half. Then you roll it diagonally to form a hollow cone. After that, you fill the hollow cone with crushed tin foil so it keeps its shape. Once you completed that you bend the tail up then down again. Next, you put the foil on a sprayed baking sheet and then spray the tin foil. The next step is to beat together your egg and water to create an egg wash to glaze your egg wash with so it is nice and golden brown. Open and roll out all three packs of the dough and cut each pack into 6 strips. You will have 18 strips in total. Rap 15 strips around the tin foil then with the 3 remaining strips lay them flat and then braid them. After you braid them attach the braid to the end of the dough and then coat the whole thing with the egg wash you made earlier. If you want to make a dessert one you add the cinnamon now, but if not just go to the next step. Place the cornucopia in the oven until golden brown. Approximately 45 minutes. Place on a wire rack until cooled completely. Once cooled you remove the foil from the interior of the bread until fully removed. After that serve with snacks inside and use it as a Thanksgiving centerpiece.

The next recipe is candy turkey legs.

  • 12 Pretzel sticks
  • White candy melts
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 1 pack Mini marshmallows
  • ½ a box Rice Krispies

First in a medium saucepan put butter and marshmallows and mix until melted. Then add the rice Krispies. The next step is to empty the Krispy mixture into a bowl and let it cool of a bit then rub your hands with olive or coconut oil. After you oil your hands make a medium sized ball of krispys and then place on a baking sheet. After that put a pretzel in the bottom of the Krispy ball. Next, melt down some of your candy melts and put some inside of a piping bag and pipe two marshmallows to the side of the pretzel. After that empty the remaining melted candy melts a tall cup and dip the end with the pretzel and marshmallows about ¾ of the way up and set back on the baking sheet for the chocolate to dry. Then serve on a place in time for dessert.

The next recipe is scalloped potatoes. For this dish, you will need…

  • 3 lbs potatoes thinly sliced
  • ½ of an onion thinly sliced
  • 9 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
  • 6 tablespoons butter, diced and divided
  • A pinch of salt and ground pepper
  • 3 cups whole milk, or as needed

First, you need to preheat the oven to 375 degrees Spread about 1/3 of the potato slices into the bottom of the baking dish. Top with about 1/3 of the onion slices. Then sprinkle 3 tablespoons flour over the potato and onion. After that arrange 2 tablespoons butter atop the flour. Season the entire layer with salt and pepper. Repeat layering two more times. Heat milk in a saucepan until warm. Pour warm milk over the mixture in the baking dish so the top of the liquid is the same as the final layer of potatoes. Bake in the oven until potatoes are soft. Approximately 45-55 min.

The final recipe is some pumpkin bread. For the pumpkin bread, you will need…

  • 1 15 oz can pumpkin puree
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and then grease 3 7×3 inch pans. Next In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water, and sugar until blended. In a new bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until blended. Then pour into the prepared pans. After that bake for about 45 minutes in the preheated oven and poke the bread with a toothpick and if it comes out clean its ready.

So these were just some ideas on meals that you could make for your family on Thanksgiving.
