You may have heard of “Sweetener,” but did you know in much less than a year, Ariana Grande is back with a new album called “Thank You, Next?” If you are interested in listening to it yourself, you can listen to it on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music, Pandora, Google play, Youtube Music, and many more.
This album contains the songs “Thank You, Next,” “Imagine,” “Fake Smile,” “In My Head,” “Needy,” “Bad Idea,” “7 Rings,” “NASA,” “Make Up,” “Bloodline,” “Ghostin,” and finally, “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.” 97% of people liked the songs in this album according to Google. I am going to explain three of these songs, and the meanings behind them. The songs I chose are “Ghostin’,” “In my head,” and “NASA.”
To start off, Ghostin is about how she feels bad for the person she is with, because she loves someone else. Fans are assured that it has to do with Miller’s death. According to most fans, this song has something to do with Miller. She stated what the meaning of the song was when she tweeted that “Ghostin” was about “Feeling badly for the person you’re with bc you love somebody else. feeling badly bc he can tell he can’t compare.” Fans say that this has to be the most emotional song in the album. One of the parts, fans say its most emotional is, “He comes to visit me when I’m dreaming every now and then.”

The next song I am going to be explaining will be “In My Head.” This song has to deal with falling in love with an idea of someone, but then you come to realize that what you imagined in your head is not real. She tweeted that the full meaning on the song was, “Being in love with a version of somebody you’ve created in your head. falling for someone that they are not.” Fans have an idea that this has to do with Davidson and Miller

The final song in the album I am going to be explaining is “NASA.” This song has to deal with how she loves someone but on that day she wants some “space.” She uses space in two different ways in this song. In the song, it says “It’s like I’m the universe and you’ll be N-A-S-A. Give you the whole world, I’ma need space” She is saying that she wants some space from him, but references it as space and stars in the sky.

I interviewed Nia Sanchez in the eighth grade, and this is what they think about the album. “Out of all the songs in the album, “Fake Smile” is my favorite because I like the beginning part where she sampled a song from the 60’s. The idea behind it is really cool too because you know she has been through a lot the past couple of years and it talks about how she’s not gonna fake a smile if she’s not happy.”

In conclusion, the album has become a hit since it dropped. If you didn’t understand those songs when you listened to them, now you do! I hope I helped you with understanding the meanings of the songs in Ariana’s new album.
