Samantha Brown
Samantha Brown is a 7th grade student at Dana Middle School, and is on the Journalism staff. Before Dana, Samantha went to school at Portuguese Bend Nursery school, and then went to Pt. Fermin. She says “I was born and raised in San Pedro”. At Dana, some of Samantha’s favorite things to do, is to write, run, and read. She was in the millionaire’s club last year, and out of the many books she has read, her favorite is The Girl Who Drank the Moon. Her favorite subjects are History and English, because of her preference of reading and writing. Samantha says the reason she became a Journalist is because: “last year I learned that I really enjoy writing, and I thought that this class [Journalism] would be a good experience for me, and would also allow me to write, which is something I really like to do.” Outside of school, a sport she really loves to play volleyball. A sport that Samantha has been playing for about 4 to 5 years. When she’s not reading or playing volleyball, a hobby she has is to go to the beach and relax. When she has a conversation with others, she would normally talk about recent events and things on social media, or talk about books they’ve read before or will. “...just common things that are going around.” She plans to go to San Pedro High after Dana MS. Samantha doesn’t really know which college she wants to go to, but wants follow along the lines of teaching.
